Its probably been my favorite blind playthrough in twenty years. The weather can really limit you at times, cities can go from cake walk to hell scape in minutes, scarcity of tools can stop you from even realizing half the materials you can gather or will need and so many more things that another body with you actually only makes things more complicated. The menu is abysmal but manageable, hit detection is all sorts of screwy, building doesn't always work how you think it will even when you've gotten familiar with things, the harshness of each biome is so different being unprepared or lacking information will get you killed, until you manage hunger entirely correctly you are constantly deleveling from fatigue, the first seventh day can catch you totally off guard and make every one after it just traumatic. The TL DR: looking for a game withħ Days is probably the only co op survival experience Ive played that still feels really pressured and intimidating with the addition of a partner.

We also want to avoid games where you have no choice but to engage in PVP (e.g. The challenge is finding a balance in terms of accessibility and depth - I enjoy games like Destiny 2 that reward players for grinding for weapon rolls and teaming up for raids, but my friend generally prefers co-op to large group gaming, and isn't inclined to game with a second screen (phone/tablet) nearby to constantly be managing inventory etc (which is basically a necessity for games like Destiny, grrrr).
