The weather can really limit you at times, cities can go from cake walk to hell scape in minutes, scarcity of tools can stop you from even realizing half the materials you can gather or will need and so many more things that another body with you actually only makes things more complicated. The menu is abysmal but manageable, hit detection is all sorts of screwy, building doesn't always work how you think it will even when you've gotten familiar with things, the harshness of each biome is so different being unprepared or lacking information will get you killed, until you manage hunger entirely correctly you are constantly deleveling from fatigue, the first seventh day can catch you totally off guard and make every one after it just traumatic.
